Quick start
- Open Settings › Plan. Anyone on your team can do this, not just the owner.
- Choose Upgrade to Plus — $29/month, or or $290/year to pay yearly.
- Pay by card on Stripe's secure checkout page. We never see your card.
- You come back to Settings › Plan with Welcome to Plus. The AI assistant, scheduled CRM sync and pyramid history are now on for everyone in your organization.
- Try it: open a gift pyramid and choose Ask AI, set a nightly sync in Settings › Data, or open a pyramid's History tab.
Free and Plus side by side
Every pyramid is free. Plus is one optional paid plan that adds three things on top of Free: the AI assistant, scheduled CRM sync and pyramid history. Nothing you build on Free is locked away when you upgrade, and nothing is taken away from Free.
| Feature | Free | Plus |
|---|---|---|
| Gift pyramids, donor pyramids and True Pyramids | Included | Included |
| Campaigns and prospect plans | Included | Included |
| File uploads and CRM connections | Included | Included |
| Refresh from your CRM on a pyramid, and Sync now in Settings › Data | Included | Included |
| View records, Excel export and Print | Included | Included |
| Your whole team | Included | Included |
| AI assistant: Ask AI, Draft with AI, Write summary, What changed? | Only with your organization's own Anthropic or OpenAI API key | 150 requests a month for the organization, or your own key |
| Scheduled CRM sync, nightly or weekly | Not included | Included |
| Pyramid history: monthly and after-sync snapshots, trend chart, compare | Not included (history saved while you had Plus stays viewable) | Included |
| Price | $0 | $29/month or $290/year per organization |
On Free, Plus features stay visible with a small Plus tag. On a pyramid, clicking one opens a short card on the page that explains the feature, with Upgrade to Plus — $29/month, and for the AI assistant Use your own API key; there are no pop-ups. In Settings › Data, each CRM's Schedule menu is greyed out with the note that scheduled sync is part of Plus.
What each Plus feature does
- AI assistant
- Answers questions about a gift pyramid in a side panel, drafts gift levels and prospect rules as a new scenario, writes an editable summary for leadership, and explains what changed between two history snapshots. It only ever sees totals, never donor records or constituent IDs. See AI assistant.
- Scheduled CRM sync
- Each connected CRM can sync nightly, or weekly on a day you choose, at 2:00 AM Eastern. Every pyramid built from that CRM rebuilds after each sync, so it stays current without anyone clicking Refresh from your CRM. See scheduled sync.
- Pyramid history
- A snapshot of every pyramid once a month and after each CRM sync. The History tab on each pyramid charts the tiers (or, for a gift pyramid, prospects identified) month by month and compares any two snapshots. See Pyramid history.
Your whole team is included
Plus belongs to the organization, not to a person. Once anyone upgrades, every owner and member of that organization gets the AI assistant, scheduled sync and history. The 150 AI requests a month are shared by the whole organization.
Pricing
| Billing | Price | Works out to |
|---|---|---|
| Monthly | $29 a month | $348 over 12 months |
| Yearly | $290 a year | Two months free compared with paying monthly ($348 − $290 = $58, the price of two months) |
The price is per organization, with the whole team included. It renews automatically at the end of each month or year until it's cancelled. Prices are plus any applicable tax.
What “per organization” means
An organization is one workspace: its pyramids, uploads, CRM connections, team and plan. Each organization has its own plan and its own bill.
- If you belong to several organizations (say you're a consultant working with three nonprofits), each one is Free or Plus on its own. Upgrading one doesn't upgrade the others.
- Settings › Plan always shows the plan of the organization you're in right now. Switch organizations from the account menu to see another one's plan. See Organizations.
- Two people in the same organization never pay twice: once the organization has Plus, everyone in it has Plus.
Example: one consultant, three organizations
Jordan belongs to Riverside Food Bank, Hillcrest Arts and Northside Youth League. Riverside upgrades to Plus monthly ($29/month). Hillcrest stays on Free. Northside pays yearly ($290/year). When Jordan switches to Hillcrest, the Ask AI button shows a Plus tag; in Riverside and Northside it opens the assistant. Riverside and Northside each have their own 150 AI requests a month.
Monthly or yearly
Choose monthly if you want to try Plus for a campaign planning season or aren't sure yet; if you cancel, Plus runs to the end of the month you've paid for. Choose yearly if you'll use scheduled sync and history all year: it costs $58 less than twelve monthly payments, and history is most useful when it builds up month after month. You can switch later in Manage billing (see switching).
Taxes and refunds
Our Terms say Plus is $29 a month or $290 a year per organization, plus any applicable tax. When you cancel, Plus stays on until the end of the period you've paid for; we don't refund partial periods unless the law requires it. The Terms also say we'll give the owner at least 30 days' email notice before changing Plus prices, and a new price applies from your next renewal after that notice.
Upgrading to Plus
- Go to Settings › Plan. On Free it shows Free and what Plus adds.
- Choose Upgrade to Plus — $29/month for monthly billing, or the or $290/year link beside it for yearly.
- Stripe Checkout opens. Enter your card on Stripe's page and confirm. If you change your mind, use Stripe's back link: you return to Settings › Plan and nothing changes.
- After paying you come straight back to Settings › Plan, which now reads Plus · $29/month · renews and the date (or Plus · $290/year), with the notice Welcome to Plus.
Plus is on as soon as you're back. There's nothing to install and nothing for your teammates to do.
Tip: The Upgrade to Plus — $29/month buttons on the Plus cards around the app (on the gift pyramid, the History tab and elsewhere) all take you to Settings › Plan, where you choose monthly or yearly.
Who can upgrade
Any member of the organization can upgrade, not only the owner. The person who upgrades first becomes the billing contact Stripe has on file: we create the organization's Stripe customer with the organization's name and that person's email. Only the owner can cancel (see Cancelling Plus). For what owners and members can each do elsewhere in the app, see roles.
What turns on when you upgrade
- AI assistant: Ask AI, Draft with AI, Write summary and What changed? lose their Plus tags and work for everyone. Settings › Plan shows AI requests this month: 0 of 150 with a meter.
- Scheduled sync: the Schedule menu for each connected CRM in Settings › Data unlocks. It starts at Off; choose Nightly or Weekly and a day.
- Pyramid history: within the hour, every pyramid that has finished building gets its first monthly snapshot. History starts the month you upgrade; there's no history from before. See snapshots.
Settings › Plan at a glance
Everything about your plan lives in the Plan section of Settings. What you see depends on where your organization stands:
| Your organization is… | Settings › Plan shows | Buttons |
|---|---|---|
| On Free | Free, and that Plus adds the AI assistant (150 requests a month), scheduled CRM sync and pyramid history | Upgrade to Plus — $29/month, or $290/year |
| Paying for Plus | Plus · $29/month · renews Nov 18, 2026 (or $290/year), and AI requests this month: 38 of 150 · resets Nov 1 with a meter | Manage billing for everyone; Cancel Plus for the owner |
| Cancelled, still in the paid period | Plus is cancelled and ends Nov 18, 2026. You can turn it back on before then. | Manage billing, Turn Plus back on |
| Behind on a payment | Your last payment didn't go through. Stripe will try again; update your card in Manage billing to keep Plus. | Manage billing; Cancel Plus for the owner |
| On complimentary Plus | Plus · complimentary (or Plus · complimentary until a date) and TruePyramids turned on Plus for your organization. | None; there's nothing to bill |
Below the plan, Your own AI key lets the owner connect the assistant to your organization's own Anthropic or OpenAI account. See using your own API key.
Receipts, invoices and payment details
We don't handle cards or invoices ourselves. Payments go through Stripe, and you manage them on Stripe's secure customer page. We keep only the Stripe customer and subscription IDs, the billing interval, the subscription's status and when the current period ends.
Manage billing
- Go to Settings › Plan. Manage billing appears whenever your organization pays for Plus, for every member of the team.
- Choose Manage billing. Stripe's customer page opens.
- There you can update the card, see your invoices, change billing details, and switch between monthly and yearly.
- Use Stripe's return link to come back to Settings › Plan.
Stripe emails payment receipts. To cancel, don't look in Stripe: the owner cancels in Settings › Plan (see Cancelling Plus).
Note: Because any member can open Manage billing, anyone on the team can see the organization's invoices and update its card. If that's a concern, keep the team to people you'd trust with billing, or ask the owner to handle it.
Switching between monthly and yearly
Choose Manage billing and change the plan there. When you're back, Settings › Plan shows the new price, Plus · $290/year or Plus · $29/month, with the next renewal date. Everything else about Plus stays the same: the AI allowance is 150 requests a month either way.
When a payment fails
If a renewal payment doesn't go through, Plus stays on while Stripe tries the card again, and Settings › Plan shows Your last payment didn't go through. Choose Manage billing and update the card to keep Plus. If the payment keeps failing and Stripe ends the subscription, your organization goes back to Free. Nothing you built is deleted, and pyramid history stays viewable; the changes are the same as when Plus ends after a cancellation (see what changes).
Cancelling Plus
Only the owner can cancel. Members see Manage billing and the line “Any team member can upgrade; only the owner can cancel.”
- As the owner, go to Settings › Plan.
- Choose Cancel Plus. A short confirmation opens in place, starting “Plus stays on until” the end of your paid period, and lists what changes after that.
- Choose the red Cancel Plus to confirm, or Keep Plus to close it.
- Settings › Plan now reads Plus is cancelled and ends with the date. Plus keeps working for everyone until then.
Cancelling doesn't end Plus early and doesn't refund the rest of the period: you keep everything until the date shown, and no further payments are taken.
What changes when Plus ends
| Feature | After Plus ends |
|---|---|
| Scheduled CRM sync | Each schedule is switched to Off. Refresh from your CRM on a pyramid and Sync now in Settings › Data keep working. |
| AI assistant | Stops, unless the owner has added your own API key. Saved leadership summaries stay on their pyramids and can still be edited, copied, exported or removed. AI-draft scenarios stay as ordinary scenarios. |
| Pyramid history | Snapshots already saved stay viewable: the trend chart, Compare and View records all still work. No new snapshots are taken. What changed? needs Plus or your own key. |
| Pyramids, uploads, campaigns, prospect plans, CRM connections and team | Not affected. |
Note: Schedules are switched off, not paused. If you come back to Plus, set each CRM's schedule again in Settings › Data.
Changed your mind? Turn Plus back on
Until the end date, Settings › Plan shows Turn Plus back on. Any member can choose it. The cancellation is undone, the plan reads renews with the date again, and billing carries on as before. Nothing was switched off in the meantime, so there's nothing to set up again.
Coming back to Plus later
Once Plus has ended, Settings › Plan shows Free with the upgrade buttons again. Upgrade the same way as the first time; you'll go through Stripe Checkout for a new subscription. Then:
- Set your CRM schedules again.
- History picks up where it left off: within the hour, each pyramid gets this month's snapshot if it doesn't already have one, then monthly and sync snapshots carry on. Months without Plus have no snapshot, so the trend chart shows a break there.
- Your AI allowance is the usual 150 requests for the current month, minus any your organization already used this month.
Complimentary Plus
Sometimes the TruePyramids team turns on Plus for an organization at no charge, for example for beta testers. You'll see Plus · complimentary in Settings › Plan, or Plus · complimentary until a date when it has an end, with the line TruePyramids turned on Plus for your organization.
- Complimentary Plus is the full Plus: AI assistant with 150 requests a month, scheduled sync and history.
- There's no billing, so there are no Manage billing or Cancel Plus buttons, and no upgrade buttons while it lasts.
- When there's an end date, Plus stays on through that whole day (in UTC), then the organization goes back to Free with the same changes as a cancellation. The upgrade buttons then reappear if you want to keep Plus.
- If your organization also pays, Settings › Plan shows the paid subscription.
Deleting everything ends Plus right away
When the owner uses Delete everything in Settings › Data, we cancel the Plus subscription with Stripe first, effective immediately, and only then delete the workspace. If Stripe can't be reached, nothing is deleted and you'll see “We couldn't cancel Plus with Stripe, so nothing was deleted. Try again in a few minutes.” See deleting everything.
Careful: Deleting the workspace ends Plus at once, not at the end of the paid period, and the deletion can't be undone. If you only want to stop paying, cancel Plus instead and keep your work.
Advanced: how your plan is decided
For administrators who want the exact rules.
When an organization counts as Plus
An organization has Plus at a given moment when either is true:
- Complimentary Plus is on and has no end date, or its last day (in UTC) hasn't passed.
- A paid subscription has Stripe status
active,trialingorpast_due, and the end of its current period hasn't passed. Once a subscription is set to cancel, that end is the date it cancels, so Plus switches off at that moment.
Any other subscription status, such as canceled or unpaid, means no paid Plus. The web app and the background worker apply the same rule, so the AI assistant, schedules and history all switch together.
When each Plus feature notices a change
- AI assistant
- Checked on every request, so it turns on or off immediately.
- Scheduled sync
- The scheduler looks every 5 minutes. When it finds a schedule in an organization without Plus, it sets the schedule to Off.
- History
- The history job runs every hour. It takes this month's snapshot of each pyramid in a Plus organization that doesn't have one yet, so a new Plus organization's history begins within the hour. Sync snapshots are taken for syncs that ran while the organization had Plus.
- AI allowance
- Counted per organization per calendar month in UTC, separate from your billing dates. It starts again on the 1st of each month whether you pay monthly or yearly.
How Stripe and TruePyramids stay in step
When you come back from Checkout, we read the new subscription from Stripe straight away, so Plus is on before you see the page. After that, Stripe tells us about every change (renewals, failed payments, interval switches, cancellations) and we copy the status, interval and period end onto your organization. Each Stripe notice is handled once, whatever order they arrive in.
Questions
Do I need Plus to build pyramids?
No. Gift pyramids, donor pyramids, True Pyramids, campaigns, prospect plans, uploads, CRM connections, View records, Excel export and your whole team are all on Free. Plus adds only the AI assistant, scheduled CRM sync and pyramid history.
Is there a free trial?
No. Plus starts when you pay, and you can cancel any time; it then stays on to the end of the period you paid for. If you'd like to try the AI assistant first, the owner can add your own Anthropic or OpenAI key on Free (see your own API key).
I'm in two organizations. Do I pay twice?
Each organization has its own plan, so each one that wants Plus pays for it. Within one organization you never pay twice: one subscription covers everyone on its team.
Can a member upgrade without the owner?
Yes. Any member can upgrade, open Manage billing, and turn a cancelled Plus back on. Only the owner can cancel.
Why can't I see Cancel Plus?
Only the owner sees it. If you're a member, ask your organization's owner; Settings › Team lists who that is. Complimentary Plus has no Cancel button at all, because there's nothing to bill.
Where are our receipts and invoices?
Stripe emails payment receipts. To see past invoices, choose Manage billing in Settings › Plan; Stripe's customer page lists them.
How do we switch from monthly to yearly?
Choose Manage billing in Settings › Plan and change the plan on Stripe's page. Settings › Plan then shows Plus · $290/year.
Do you see our card number?
No. Cards are entered on Stripe's pages and stay with Stripe. We never see or store card numbers.
Our payment failed. Do we lose Plus right away?
No. Plus stays on while Stripe retries, and Settings › Plan asks you to update the card in Manage billing. If the payment keeps failing and Stripe ends the subscription, the organization goes back to Free; nothing you built is deleted.
If we cancel, do we lose our history?
No. Every snapshot already saved stays viewable on each pyramid's History tab, and you can still compare them. No new snapshots are taken until you have Plus again.
What happens to our nightly sync if we cancel?
When Plus ends, each schedule is switched to Off. Refresh from your CRM and Sync now keep working on Free. If you come back to Plus, set the schedules again in Settings › Data.
Do our leadership summaries and AI drafts disappear when Plus ends?
No. Summaries stay on their pyramids, and you can edit, copy, export or remove them. AI-draft scenarios stay as scenarios. You just can't write new ones without Plus or your own key.
Can we use the AI assistant without Plus?
Yes, with your own Anthropic or OpenAI API key. The owner adds it under Your own AI key in Settings › Plan, and usage is billed to your account with that provider. Scheduled sync and history still need Plus.
Do unused AI requests carry over?
No. Each organization gets 150 requests a month, and unused ones don't carry over to the next month.
Why doesn't our plan have any billing buttons?
Your organization has complimentary Plus from the TruePyramids team, so there's nothing to manage or cancel. If it has an end date, Settings › Plan shows it; after that day you're back on Free and can upgrade if you want to keep Plus.
What if we delete everything while we're paying?
Plus is cancelled with Stripe immediately as part of the deletion, so no more payments are taken. If you just want to stop paying and keep your work, cancel Plus instead.
Can the price change?
Our Terms say we'll email the owner at least 30 days before changing Plus prices, and a new price applies from your next renewal after that notice.
